About Me

My name is Deborah Krieger, and I'm a curator, writer, researcher, and museums/arts nonprofits/community engagement enthusiast.

I am the Gallery Assistant at Louis Stern Fine Arts in West Hollywood, CA. Previously, I was the Exhibit & Program Coordinator at the Museum of Work & Culture in Woonsocket, RI (part of the Rhode Island Historical Society). (You can see some of the work I accomplished there on this page.) Before that, I graduated from the Public Humanities Master's Program at Brown University. (You can check out some of my graduate school work on this page here.) During my graduate school education I was the Curatorial Fellow at the David Winton Bell Gallery.  Previously, I was the curatorial assistant at the Delaware Art Museum in Wilmington, DE. I am also a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Swarthmore College and the recipient of a Fulbright Combined Grant to Vienna, Austria, from 2016-2017.

I started I On the Arts in March of 2010 as a place to review art exhibitions I saw in my native Los Angeles, and now also cover movies, television, music, books, and other art forms. I began freelancing in 2013, and now have bylines at BUST Magazine, PopMatters, Humble Arts Foundation, Artblog, Moviejawn, Artillery Magazine, the Los Angeles Review of BooksWhitehot Magazine of Contemporary ArtPaste Magazine, Bitch FlicksThe Mary SueHyperallergic, and other online and print publications. My portfolio of writing from 2016-present can be found here, and my complete bibliography can be found here. I'm also on RottenTomatoes as an individual Tomatometer-approved critic, a critic on CherryPicks, and a few of my book reviews are on Book Marks! I also worked as an advising editor for Whitehot Magazine in 2017-18.
